The cherry on top was the tette della monaca with pistachios! Service is great too—everyone was very nice. Also, they stay open during siesta time which is also a big plus. 100% recommended! ”

Despite being self-service, the experience is wonderful, and the cool temperature inside the cave is perfect on this hot summer days. I’ve been in Matera for 3 days and tried several restaurants where I paid an exaggerated coperto fee of 3 to 4 euros — here, you don’t pay any COPERTO at all. Totally worth it! ”

I should have made a better choice with that. The desserts were very delicious. It’s also a self service restaurant => I had to make few trips to the counter to not only get my dishes, but clearing the empty plates and glasses as the table was small. ”
