“ We visited this place during our Europe trip. Amazing food and great people. The whole experience was incredible. Those dry Italian chilies were so delicious. Must try. I would highly recommend them. They can customize your dishes as we were looking for vegetarian options. ”
“ We absolutely LOVED the food here!! Traditional local dishes in a very unique setting in a cave. The orecchiette with turnip tops was amazing, as well as the polpette di pane. The cherry on top was the tette della monaca with pistachios! Service is great too—everyone was very nice. Also, they stay open during siesta time which is also a big plus. 100% recommended! ”
“ The place was self service which was completely fine. The bruschetta was absolutely amazing and I can recommend. The pasta was average and the meat was only three out of five stars. Overall it was still a pleasant experience if you want something quick and nothing to fancy come here ”
“ Great Food & Unique Cave Experience! I’ve traveled around Italy and this was truly one of the best meals I’ve had — high-quality, fresh food in a very unique cave setting. Despite being self-service, the experience is wonderful, and the cool temperature inside the cave is perfect on this hot summer days. I’ve been in Matera for 3 days and tried several restaurants where I paid an exaggerated coperto fee of 3 to 4 euros — here, you don’t pay any COPERTO at all. Totally worth it! ”
“ The food was good and the portion was okay. I tried the soaked bread balls starter and ravioli. Both had the same tomato sauce with no difference in taste at all. I should have made a better choice with that. The desserts were very delicious. It’s also a self service restaurant => I had to make few trips to the counter to not only get my dishes, but clearing the empty plates and glasses as the table was small. ”
“ A true hidden gem! Down a few stairs with a few outdoor tables with lamps and more tables inside, the food is incredible! The staff are so kind. The ambiance is incredible. Order your food inside and get a buzzer when it’s ready. Genius! Honestly the best meal and relaxed night out in Matera. ”
